How the countdown works

The big number counts calendar days from today's date to your birthday. The timer counts the exact time left until midnight at the start of your birthday, in your own time zone. Both use the clock on your device, so nothing is sent anywhere.

The weekday of your birthday

Do I need to enter my birth year?

No. Month and day are enough for the countdown. Add the year if you'd like to see the age you're about to turn.

Why does the timer show one day less than the big number?

The big number counts calendar days between today's date and your birthday. The timer counts the exact time left until midnight at the start of your birthday, so part of today is already gone.

What if my birthday is February 29?

In non-leap years you can count down to February 28 or March 1. The option appears when you enter February 29.

Can I keep the countdown on screen?
